CAPS (Certified Aging in Place) designations detail the technical, business management and customer-service skills essential to the success of remodelers and therapists who are interested in incorporating modifications designed for the aging and/or disabled homeowner. Most people desire to remain in their own homes despite aging or becoming disabled. Endorsed by AARP, the CAPS designation has become increasingly popular in the building marketplace and among occupational therapists, Veterans Administration caseworkers and others who conduct business primarily with the elderly population.
